Italian rider Alessandro Borgo claimed victory with a powerful sprint. After finishing fifth last year, he now stands on the top step of the podium. Frydkjær and Golliker completed the podium in second and third.

The Men U23 lined up at 13:30 for their Gent-Wevelgem In Flanders Fields. Starting on the Grote Markt in Ypres, the riders faced a challenging 189.6 km course featuring no fewer than eight climbs.

With 114 km to go, four riders launched the breakaway: Dewinter, Killy, Larsson, and Chardon animated the front of the race. However, their escape was short-lived, and the peloton regrouped before the third pass over the finish line.

In the finale, Golliker launched an attack. Gillet, Borgo, and Frydkjær tried to close the gap, trailing by 10 seconds. Meanwhile, another trio, including race number one Dolven, also attempted to bridge. With 14 km remaining, Golliker’s solo move came to an end as he was caught and joined the chasing trio.

With 10 km left, strong teams like Alpecin-Deceuninck and Team Visma | Lease a Bike went on the offensive. Another trio, including Aaron Dockx, made one final attempt to reach the front. But the many chases behind the leaders were in vain. Thanks to solid collaboration, the leading four stayed together all the way to the Rijselstraat. In the sprint, it was Italy’s Borgo who proved the fastest, with Frydkjær and Golliker rounding out the podium.
