The peloton is heading towards a sunny Gent-Wevelgem!

26 March 2022

This weekend it is time to race in Flanders Fields. Gent-Wevelgem will be held between Ypres and Wevelgem, in the setting of the First World War. How the race proceeds on Sunday will be up to the riders, but the weather conditions are also important. The weather gods are in the best mood for the riders on Sunday, so we predict a good day of racing.
We start the day with some light clouds, later in the morning the clouds break up and the temperature rises to around 17°C. Sunday will be a beautiful sunny race day through Flanders Fields, for the Elite Men and Elite Women but also for the fans along the track.

Over the cobbles with lots of sunshine. The RMI is predicting a sunny day with spring temperatures of up to 17 degrees. The wind will also play a role in the race this year, alongside the rain and sun. However, that role will be less important than in previous editions of Gent-Wevelgem. On Sunday, the wind will be weak to moderate and blow from the northeast.

The sun, 7 races in Flanders Fields, top riders at the start in Ypres and fans along the route. That's all a cycling fan needs to make it a cycling feast. See you Sunday in Ypres or somewhere along the track.
